Geilston Bay to Tranmere Track
PUFF-O-METRE Overview This track has to be one of the best in Southern Tasmania to be able to follow the coastline without needing to mingle with traffic much at all. There are a couple of short sections that have you crossing roads as you travel along the footpaths rather than being on a dedicated bike path but they aren't common or for very long. This track allows you to start at any point, travel along it as long as you want and get off at any stage. For the purposes of capturing all the sections, we started at Geilston Bay on our bikes and took it all the way to its end at Tranmere. We then turned around and rode it all the way back to Geilston Bay. In doing so, we travelled through Geilston Bay, Lindisfarne, Bellerive, Rosny Park, Howrah and Tranmere. The track is a combination of tarmac, concrete, gravel and sand. While this does sound challenging, there aren't many elevation changes so it makes for a relaxed exploration.
