Angie Sue Lauderdale is located in Lauderdale, approximately 19km south-east of Hobart.

Angie Sue specialises in all-day brunch and small plates during the day, while on Friday nights Angie Sue serves hand-stretched sourdough wood-fired pizzas.

The food is beautifully presented and tastes even better than it looks.

Diners have the choice of sitting in one of three locations - out the front overlooking the water and Mount Wellington, inside the restaurant or outside in the courtyard.

Each area is beautifully styled and very welcoming.

We particularly loved the all-day brunch options at Angie Sue.

The miso corn fritters with smashed avocado, poached eggs, sweet sambal and dukkah were a delight.

The poached eggs were cooked perfectly, the sambal gave the dish a mild, sweet punch and the dukkah added a lovely textural element to the dish. The flavours danced on our tastebuds.

We've also enjoyed scrambled eggs on toasted sourdough. We added bacon and haloumi to give the dish some saltiness.

The scrambled eggs were gorgeously silky and light.

The french toast was very impressive - a thick slice of brioche topped with lychee curd, candied nuts, seasonal fruits and fairy floss and it all sat proudly on a luscious bed of creamy lemongrass custard.

The ingredients in this dish were carefully considered to ensure a fresh, well-balanced and not-too-sweet dish.

We've also indulged in a selection of small plates at Angie Sue and they were fantastic to share.

The crunchy outer shell of the karaage chicken was to die for. It was dusted with spices for a bit of extra zing.

The chicken itself was mouthwateringly juicy and tender.

The salt and pepper calamari was tender and tasty and the creamy dill mayo complemented the dish well.

We wanted to order the haloumi fries with smoked maple, dukkah and lime, but the demand for this dish was so high that they had sold out. But, to ensure our haloumi cravings were satisfied, Angie Sue lovingly put together a similar dish just for us, featuring sliced haloumi, maple and dukkah. It was simple yet delicious.
