Glamping 148 Degrees Tasmania
Glamping 148 Degrees Tasmania is located in St Helens, approximately 165km East of Launceston.
Glamping 148 Degrees forms part of Big4 St Helens Holiday Park and offers visitors a unique and fun style of accommodation.
If you're not familiar with the term "glamping", it refers to "glamorous camping" and while the outside of the glamping tent resembles a large safari tent you'd expect to find on the African plains, the interior resembles a hotel room.
As you walk into the glamping area of the holiday park (which is only accessible by those staying in the glamping area), you are greeted by lots of large, earthy sandstone blocks and beautifully landscaped natural gardens.
The tents are made from a combination of canvas and timber and look very sturdy.
The tents are adorably named after Tasmanian regions and we stayed in the "Mersey" tent which overlooks the lush grassy area and dam.
The grassy area is communal to all of the glamping tents and has a picnic table and small herb garden. It's a great place to lie in the sun or read a book.
Our tent had a stunning outlook so we spent most of our time either sitting outside in our very own firepit area or on the undercover deck. We were captivated by the peace and beauty of the area.
As you step onto the deck you are greeted by a claw foot bath, barbeque and outdoor setting.
We ordered a grazing platter from local business East Coast Village Providore, which was arranged through Big4 St Helens Holiday Park.
The grazing platter was beautifully presented and the food was delicious.
Moving inside the tent, the open plan interior is beautifully decorated to ensure comfort and camping luxury while preserving the casual, safari-style feeling of the tent.
A queen bed complete with mosquito net sits proudly in the middle of the room and the mosquito net adds a touch of romance.
There are also two bunk beds, a kitchenette, lounge area, dining area and bathroom.
The shower has two different shower heads with plenty of pressure and heat.
The kitchenette has a kettle, toaster, coffee pod machine and milk frother, as well as a microwave and fridge.
The tents have split system heating and cooling to ensure thermal comfort.
The tents are very well-appointed and everything has been thought of, from wood and firelighters for the fire pit, to barbeque utensils, baking paper and aluminium foil.
We absolutely loved our glamping experience and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious and peaceful style of camping accommodation.
