Hamilton Camping Facilities

Hamilton Camping Facilities are located in Hamilton, approximately 73km North-West of Hobart.

This small, pet friendly campground occupies a glorious spot on the banks of the Clyde River.

Hamilton is not only a great place to break up the drive to Derwent Bridge and the West Coast, but is also a lovely rural destination for a relaxing weekend getaway.

The campground operates on a "first in best dressed" basis.

A small fee is payable per vehicle per night (maximum stay limits apply) and the onus is on each camper to ensure they complete the registration form and leave the appropriate cash in the locked box.

Onsite signage indicates that payments can also be made directly to Council during office hours.

There are flushing toilets and coin-operated showers in the nearby public toilet block on River Street, which is less than 50m from the campground, as well as a laundry and dump point.

There is also a children's playground and a beautiful park that campers, and indeed any member of the public, can enjoy.

There are a couple of picnic tables in the campground so you can enjoy a meal by the river.

A water tap is also provided in the camping area.

Hamilton Camping Facilities provide a really beautiful and affordable location to fall asleep to the tranquil sounds of the river.
