Evercreech Falls

PUFF-O-METRE

OVERVIEW

This beautiful trail is accessed by travelling to Mathinna and then driving along Mathinna Plains Road where you should turn onto Claytons Road (which turns into McKenzies Road). Then take Robinsons Road and Egans Road until you reach Evercreech Forest Reserve. The roads are well signed.

The road is unsealed from Claytons Road onwards (approximately 12km), and although the road is in fairly good condition, it can be quite corrugated (particularly after heavy rainfall) so you will need to decide whether it is appropriate for your vehicle to travel along this road. Higher clearance vehicles and four wheel drives should have no issues travelling along these roads.

The trail is a combination of gravel and soil with plenty of leaf litter. We didn't encounter too much mud however there are signs that this could be the case after a heavy rain fall.

The trail is technically a loop with a 100m off shoot at the halfway point to the falls.... However, the second part of the loop has you crossing the river by walking through it while holding onto a rope that spans the water. If this doesn't sound like something you'd enjoy, then perhaps it's better to retrace your steps back rather than completing the loop.
