St Helens Foreshore Trail

PUFF-O-METRE

Overview

St Helens is no stranger to walking trails or bike trails as the town has put a great deal of effort into building infrastructure for both activities. Everywhere you look, there are information signs, equipment shops and even food locations that are catering to the outdoor lifestyle.

A prominent trail, is the Foreshore Trail that starts at the wharf of Beauty Bay and follows the coastline to Lions Park. Lions Park is a beautiful little location that has public toilets, BBQ facilities and even a playground that appears to be funded by the local Lions Club. It's certainly a masterclass in how a picnic location should be designed.

The trail is made up of well-built bridges, gravel and tarmac surfaces. There a couple of small elevated areas that certainly won't pose a challenge, even when pushing a wheelchair or pram. Toilet facilities can be found at multiple locations along the way. Where there is a a toilet, you can also find shelter as they are also readily available.
