Nelson Falls

PUFF-O-METRE

OVERVIEW

This is a beautiful short walk that starts just off the Lyell Highway only 59km West of Derwent Bridge. There is plenty of parking for regular vehicles and even a number of locations that even the longest of caravans can park in.

There are a number of toilets at the start of the walk and an information board that fills you in on the rich history of the location.

Although the walk isn't all that long and certainly isn't taxing, it makes for a fantastic stop to stretch your legs after the many kms you are likely to have already driven in your journey. At the end of the walk is a wide open platform that gives you a magnificent view of the falls. How the falls look on the day will largely depend on the recent rain, however our photos were taken in summer after multiple days without rain and we were still very impressed.
