Drift Away Organic Shack

Drift Away Organic Shack is a peaceful retreat for two located in Police Point, approximately 73km south of Hobart.

Ideal for a couple, this cute studio has stunning views of the Huon River.

The shack is located on the owner's residential property, but as the main house is set well behind the shack, the house and its inhabitants go unnoticed.

The idea with this shack is to relax - read a book, drink in the view, cook a meal on the outdoor fire pit or enjoy a relaxing bath in the...........drumroll.............outdoor tub. Or, of course, do all of the above!

The bushland setting offers privacy and the local birdlife creates a gorgeous natural soundtrack.

The shack itself has a double bed, small kitchenette with mini fridge, shower, couch, an outdoor setting for the deck, an outdoor setting near the fire pit and an outdoor bath.

Jemma, the friendly and welcoming owner, provides freshly laid eggs from the resident hens, milk, tea, coffee, a selection of jams, vegemite, butter, a fresh loaf of bread from a local bakery, a couple of local drinks and cooking staples such as oil, salt, pepper and even firewood for the fire pit, which are lovely, thoughtful touches.

The toilet is housed in a separate building a few metres from the shack and is a composting toilet.

The property is private enough to sit on the loo with the door wide open and admire the view!

Jemma is accommodating and does an amazing job to ensure her guests have a memorable stay. Pets are considered upon request (but please keep in mind the chooks freely roam the property and her gorgeous dog is known to come and introduce herself to guests).
