View 42° Restaurant & Bar is located in the west coast village of Strahan, approximately 270km south-west of Launceston and 301km north-west of Hobart.
View 42° forms part of the Strahan Village accommodation provider and the restaurant and bar boasts spectacular views over Macquarie Harbour.
The restaurant is primarily known for its sumptuous seafood buffet dinner service, however it also offers a continental or full hot buffet breakfast service.
When dining at View 42° for dinner, we recommend you enjoy a drink or two on the alfresco deck or indoor lounge area beforehand. The perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing, View 42° arguably has the best view in Strahan.
View 42° prides itself with serving quality Tasmanian produce and you don't have to stay at Strahan Village to enjoy the food, drinks and views the restaurant and bar offers.
The dinner buffet offers a great selection of Tasmanian seafood such as freshly shucked Cape Bruny oysters, Petuna Macquarie Harbour whole baked ocean trout, house smoked Norfolk Bay mussels, confit Tasmanian scallop and avocado salad and local smoked salmon, while also featuring other Australian seafood such as cooked tiger prawns.
There are plenty of fresh, tasty salads to complement the seafood such as spicy rice noodle salad with pickled vegetables, sesame soy dressing and marinated tofu.
The hot food features a prime Tasmanian roast of the day, steamed and baked Tasmanian vegetables, spicy pan seared calamari with Tasmanian bush dust and chef's locally sourced fish of the day.
There's an array of sweet treats for dessert, including pavlova, cheesecake, fresh fruit, a selection of Tasmanian cheeses and tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Breakfast features all of the usual staples including free range Tasmanian scrambled and poached eggs, hickory smoked bacon, crispy hash browns, sautéed Tasmanian mushrooms, Tasmanian chipolata sausages, cereals, freshly baked pastries and croissants, house made bircher muesli, honey and cinnamon spiced porridge, Tasmanian yoghurt, fresh fruit, juices, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
